Body Brushing Ritual| Practice for Flow, Detox, and Embodied Radiance

Not only is dry brushing an energetic reset, and sacred self-touch ritual, dry brushing move your lymph, wakes your skin, and encourages nervous system regulation. Dry brushing encourages that full-body glow, detox, and nervous system support.

✧ What You’ll Need:
A dry body brush with firm natural bristles (long handle optional).
A quiet 3–5 minute window, ideally before your shower or bath.
Optional: soothing music, breathwork, candlelit moment

STEP-BY-STEP: Full Body Dry Brushing
Always brush toward the heart — this is key for lymphatic flow.
Use long, light strokes, and breathe deeply. This is a nervous system ritual.
Start at your feet and brush upward toward your knees (3–5 strokes per section).
Then from knees to hips — front, sides, and back of thighs.
Don’t forget the backs of knees and inner thighs (lymph-rich areas).
Why: Feet + legs are where stagnation builds — this helps circulate blood and lymph upward.

Glutes + Hips
Brush in upward circular motions across the bum + hip area. Sweep in toward the centerline of your body.

Abdomen
Gentle clockwise circles around your navel (direction of digestion).
Then brush diagonally upward toward your heart.

Arms
Start at fingertips and brush up toward shoulders.
Don’t forget underarms, use lighter strokes (lymph drainage center).

Chest & Décolletage
Very gently brush from breasts outward and upward toward the collarbone.
Avoid brushing directly over nipples.
This area is energetically sacred, move slow, with reverence.

Back
Use a long-handled brush or ask a partner for support. Sweep from lower back up toward shoulders

Closing
Pause. Breathe. Place your hands over your heart and say: “I am alive in this skin. I am flowing. I am free.”

Aprés Brushing
Shower to rinse away dead skin + toxins.
After drying, apply your favorite balm or oil in upward strokes.
Hydrate internally (water, herbal tea, minerals).

HOW OFTEN? 2–3x/week is plenty. Best done in the morning for energizing or before cold plunging. Avoid broken or sensitive skin.
